Typhoon Mangkhut Local name Ompong

Weather Update: Typhoon “ompong” already enters Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to DOST PAGASA forecast spokesperson the Super Typhoon Ompong was already enters the PAR. With maximum sustained wind of 205 kilometer per hour Gustiness of 255kph and moves westward with 20 kph. Classify as super typhoon like Typhoon Yolanda with 230 kph. The Typhoon may landfall at Cagayan area at saturday morning.

Those residents near the shores were being reminded to evacuate themselves and look for a safer place. Because Storm surged were expected with at least 2 meters up to 3.5 meters high near the shores. Government authority also reminded those small fishing boats and vessels not to go on sailing.

Typhoon Cylone Warning Signal (TCWS) number 1 will be announce at Catanduanes.

September 11, 2018, Typhoon Mangkhut with Local name “Ompong” Categorized as Super Typhoon. With Maximum Winds of 170 km/hr.

At 8:00 a.m. today according to the available data of DOST PAGASA weather center. The Typhoon with Universal name Mangkhut, was located, at 1,845 km East of Southern Luzon.

The Typhoon Mangkhut are further intensified and continuing moving Westward. With  Maximum Sustained Winds of 170 Kilometer per hour near the center, Gustiness of up to 210 kilometer per hour, Moving westward at the speed of 25 kilometer per hour.

The typhoon forecast of DOST PAGASA  weather center. The Typhoon Mangkhut will be at the location of 1,285 km east of southern luzon (Virac Catanduanes) outside of PAR (Philippines Area of Resposibility) (14.1N, 136.1E).

The Typhoon Mangkhut will enter the PAR at 2pm of Sept. 12, 2018 and will be name “Ompong”.  Thursday Sept. 13, 2018 typhoon Ompong will be at 950 km East of Daet, Camarines Norte. Friday Morning of September 14, 2018 at 600 km East of Baler, Aurora, and Saturday morning at 50 km Southwest of Calayan, Cagayan. Sunday morning the typhoon Ompong will exit the PAR at 490 km Northwest of Nothern Luzon Laoag city of Ilocos Norte (Outside of PAR).

The typhoon will strengthen the Southwest Moonsoon, that will bring light scattered rain particularly in the regions of Western Visayas, Palawan area and some part of Mindanao regions.

As PAGASA says, Typhoon Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) Number 1 may be raised as early as evening of September 12, 2018
